The Large Round Bale Bag fits over bales that are 7'x7', as well as the large square bales such as 4'x5'x 8’ bales. ★Caution★ When using Handy Hay Nets with shod horses, the bags need to be hung high or placed in a feeder or tub to prevent pawing. They should not be used with horned animals or haltered horses. Blanketed horses need to be supervised. Check out some video ideas for keeping animals safe.
Loading a Round Bale Net (4’x4’ to 7’x7’)
Set the bale on its side, where you want to feed it. We recommend you lay a few pallets on the ground for the bale/bag to sit on.
Stretch out the net and the drawstring opening.
Throw the net up on top of the bale, and pull down the sides.
Roll the bale to get the bag over the whole bale.
Then lift up the net in 1 area to cut the twine or mesh and remove it (this way the hay is ‘in’ the net when the bale expands).
Now pull the draw cord tight and tie it off. The excess cord needs to be stuck back into the net opening.
